Vietnam to contribute 14,000 tons of rice to regional rice reserve

HANOI, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will contribute 14,000 tons of rice to the ASEAN+3 Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR), together with other regional countries to enhance the quick response capacity of the block when supply and production are affected by natural disasters in order to maintain price stability in those countries.

The decision comes from Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh when he approved Vietnam's participation to an APTERR agreement on Thursday Oakley Eyepatch 2 Sunglasses, the local Vietnam News reported Friday.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ministry of Finance will implement the agreement by contributing 14,000 tons of rice to the regional reserve.

Under the APTERR agreement, a total of 787,000 tons of rice will be provided to the reserve, with Myanmar contributing 14,000 tons, Thailand 15,000 tons, Indonesia and the Philippines 12,000 tons each, Malaysia 6,000 tons, Singapore 5,000 tons, and Brunei, Laos and Cambodia 3,000 tons each, while China, Japan and South Korea will contribute 300,000 tons, 250,000 tons and 150,000 tons, respectively.
