uite clearly the Bible says that God will always give warning to a people who have endeavored to embark on a wrong course of action; it is part of his care for the people he loves. Who are those people? The answer is; every single one of us.,ugg boots

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, uggs boots, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7)

Without getting bogged down in the theology of the prophetic calling as it is outlined in the Bible it is easier to say that there are only two major forms of prophecy. The first is the "gift of prophecy" which comes upon anyone who experiences a move of God's Holy Spirit for the express purpose of making a prophetic utterance.

The gift can fall to anyone from the humblest member of the church to a statesman in the throws of a great discourse or argument on the floor of the Congress. Who gets the gift is entirely up to the giver. (1Cor 2:11)

The second kind of prophetic utterance comes from both individuals and organizations that have been given not the gift but the "office" of the prophet. (1 Cor 12:28) The difference is huge. God establishes a source that can be relied upon to give warning, admonishment, reproof, correction and encouragement, if heeded.

One of the unique things about the prophetic warnings is they are always spoken in a universal context. The message is always the same wherever it is spoken around the globe, ugg boots, it is a consensus. Today that consensus can be seen in dozens of individuals and ministries around the world.

In America the consensus is found in ministries and ministers like Worldview Weekend, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, David Wilkerson, John Hagee, Hal Lindsey, Perry Stone and many others. They are always Bible based and run the full spectrum from evangelical to Pentecostal. Don't be shocked to discover that some prophetic warnings are coming from the Catholic clergy these days as well.

The warnings of the prophets are not for shock value or to produce fear. They will always be centered on preparation and are meant to ready the wise and awaken the unbeliever. One such example is found in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's recent announcement to begin stressing the preparations needed for the second coming of Christ. Since all pre-millennial (second coming of Christ) prophecy points to that one event it follows that such preparation should be emphasized at this juncture in world history.

When my own calling as a prophet came almost forty years ago it was clear that I was to prophesy and that it was largely to my own countrymen. The other thing that was clear was that I am not exclusive. I don't hold the corner on prophecy.

Because I don't occupy all the ground in my calling I have had to rely upon the parts of the message given to others to make up an entire picture of what God is doing in our time. Among those I have relied upon has been one voice that singularly stands out from the crowd. That voice is Pastor David Wilkerson of the Times Square Church in downtown New York City.

Not since his book "The Vision" has David Wilkerson been as forthright with a powerful and devastatingly un-nerving prediction as he has of late. The warning first published on World Net Daily is of a terrible portent to start in New York City and nearby New Jersey that will eventually spread to other cities across the nation and the globe.

In the article "Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe" posted March 8, 2009, Wilkerson says his vision of fires raging in New York and other places are the beginnings of judgments on the nation. Wilkerson says ""It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires - such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago," he explains. "There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting - including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God's wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

Pastor Wilkerson gives no specific timetable for these events but says it is for the very near future, not years away. Can we believe him? My best answer to that is "you bet" but if you are still skeptical at least you have been warned.

The quote from Psalms "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" is wholly apropos to ongoing events in America. We have launched out into the deep waters of socialism under the Obama Administration and it is not settling well in the hearts and minds of millions of Americans. Their feelings of helplessness and frustration are mounting without apparent recourse or resolve. Truly the voices of everyone from the founding fathers to our contemporary prophets and seers are being ignored.

America would rather hear a slick message laced with false hope and a call to false glories. Today we would rather our prophets' lie to us or take on the slick rhetoric of the campaigner or the political hopeful. The world may have become vastly more technological but the state of the human heart remains the same. We love a great story even if there isn't a word of truth in it.

Socialism is still as much of a lie as when Marx, Mao, or LBJ told it. Fascism is still as backward as when Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin tried it. Should we dabble in it again and expect a different result. Ever heard what twelve steppers often quote as the best definition of insanity?

During the 50 or so years of the prophet Isaiah's prophetic ministry he was confronted with a crowd that wanted exactly the same baby food as those of this day. Essentially they asked Isaiah and his God to get lost. "That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord: Which say to the seers, ugg boots, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us." (Isa 30: 9-11)

God's answer through the prophet Isaiah was "Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant." (Isa 30:
