LONDON, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- The European Parliament passed a Television Without Frontiers reform on Wednesday

The proposed reform from the TWF directive, that has headed up Europe's media since 1997, was approved by Parliament and will allow for limited product placement to occur within Europe's borders

The passage of the reform will allow product placement to occur within European films, TV series and sports broadcasts, while disallowing the practice to take place during news programs, documentaries and programs for children.
To ensure that the action does not cause any disturbances

The paper said that in addition to these warnings, the Parliament ruled that all product placement involving both alcohol and tobacco would be entirely banned.
