Plainclothes detectives assigned to an LAPD elite surveillance unit shot and wounded three robbery suspects today in South Los Angeles

The Special Investigation Section was conducting surveillance on four men suspected of being involved in a series of robberies across South L.A. and Inglewood when the shooting occurred near49th Street and Wadsworth Avenue about 2:45 p.m. At least one of the suspects was armed

The undercover detectives had observed the men commit a robbery
moncler down, according to officials. LAPD Officer Gregory Baek said three of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds
