No injuries reported in Sweden avalanche
TEGEFJALL, Sweden, March 6 (UPI) -- An avalanche struck a ski area in northern Sweden Sunday, and search teams with dogs were looking for possible victims, police said. The 1 ,600-foot avalanche took place in the Gunnil valley above the village of Tegefjall, which is part of the Are ski area , the Swedish news agency TT reported. Anders Aspholm , head of security for Are, told the local Ostersunds-Posten newspaper it hit near the treeline. Two people were found unhurt nearby, and it was not known whether anyone was caught in the slide. Witnesses said they did not see any other people in the area.Related Topics Articles:
