After two rehab assignment games,New Era MLB Hats, Nick Johnson was cleared to return to the Marlins.
Adding Gonzalez was necessary because All-Star shortstop Hanley Ramirez is dealing with a strained left hamstring. With Ramirez resting,Washington Nationals Hats, Emilio Bonifacio had been the only shortstop option on the roster.
The veteran first baseman will be in uniform for Florida on Thursday night in the series finale with the Braves.

On Thursday afternoon,2011 New Arrival Other Hats,Marlins first cuts, the team made it official. Johnson was returned from his rehab assignment and reinstated from the disabled list.
Also on Thursday,Kansas City Royals Hats, the Marlins selected the contract of infielder Andy Gonzalez from Triple-A New Orleans.
Johnson has not played since Aug. 16 due to a right hamstring strain.
