Former chief of staff to Lee Myung-bak to announce his run for president

SEOUL, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Yim Tae-hee, former chief of staff to South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, told local media Monday he will announce his presidential bid next month.

Yim is expected to demand the ruling Saenrui Party change its primary rules so that young voters will take greater part in the party's presidential nomination race mens gucci belts, according to the broadcaster YTN.

A former three-term lawmaker who also served as labor minister in the Lee administration, Lim is poised to join the ranks of candidates vying to get on the conservative ticket for the December presidential poll.

His competitors within the party include Chung Mong-joon, a seven-term lawmaker and controlling shareholder of the world's largest shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Gyeonggi Governor Kim Moon-soo, and Lee Jae-oh, a five-term lawmaker with close ties to President Lee Myung-bak, have also thrown their hats into the ring.

Observers say an unlikely alliance could be formed among them as they seek to fight off interim Saenuri leader Park Geun-hye, considered the strongest presidential hopeful.

President Lee's five-year term ends early next year.
