Discuss: The LBD of Mascaras
Not sure about you, but I’m of the mind that mascaras are kind of like LBDs: both are versatile
swarovski necklaces, must-have prettifiers for any girl. And like little black dresses—which can range from cheap-chic finds to fancy cocktail numbers—some mascaras are suited to a particular time and place. Read on for my personal pick of when to wear what—and tell me if you're with me on this whole day-and-night mascaras theory of mine.

christian louboutin tiendas, the back-story: In terms of my mascara M.O., I’ve long been a CoverGirl kind of gal. The miraculous, long-lasting Lash Blast in dark brown became my go-to tube the second it hit drugstore shelves. (At $7.99 a pop, I could use and toss in the proper 3-month healthy-mascara timeframe without feeling too spendy.) So devoted was I to my darling little CG orange tube, I never bothered to look around for a new mascara.

But a few weeks ago, a tube of midnight black DiorShow Iconic Mascara came into my possession--a pricey find that I never would have bought for myself. (At $27 for 0.33 fl oz, the luxe product seemed a little too rich for my blood.) Thinking nothing could compare to my CG, I was shocked to see how lush and Hollywood screen siren-y it made my lashes. In fact, when I wore it out to cocktails one night, 3 people asked me about my makeup. (Well
mulberry messenger bags, they did so less politely: “You look great! What did you do to yourself? Botox? Falsies?”)
However, on the flip-side when I wore the super-dramatic DiorShow to the office a few days later
the north face coats women, a friend asked me if I had a big event to go to—or if I had gone out the night before and forgotten to de-cake. Point taken: Too-long lashes—and their “I’m looking for trouble” signal—need to be toned down in the workplace.
So for now, my makeup bag contains two mascaras: LashBlast for everyday and DiorShow for fancier
nike free run 2, after-hours events. Sometimes I think having two tubes is a little bit much
venta belstaff, but then I tell myself that it’s like having two LBDs in your wardrobe: One smart, tailored style for work and a sexier, femme fatale version for night.
