Chinese president stresses stability in Tibet

BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday stressed maintaining national integrity, ethnic unity and social stability in Tibet.

Joining in a panel discussion with legislators from the Tibet Autonomous Region at the on going national parliamentary session, Hu asked people to continue to consolidate a solid foundation for the construction of a socialist new Tibet

"Stability and harmony should be maintained in Tibet Fake Oakley Half X Sunglasses, while social management being enhanced and improved," he said.

A prolonged educational campaign should be step up to promote ethnic unity, according to the president.

He called for more spending and efforts to ensure and improve people's livelihood and upgrade basic public services, so that people of various ethnic groups in Tibet can share the fruits of reform and development.

Hu called for the adherence to the guidelines of the central authorities about the work in Tibet and carry out the tasks of reform, development and stability in a down-to-earth manner.

More should be done to promote leapfrog development by bolstering the region's agriculture, industry and service trades, he said.
