NEW BRAUNFELS , Texas , March 9 (UPI) -- A Texas woman who left her baby daughter strapped in a car seat while she went to work found her child dead 9 hours later , police in New Braunfels said. Police said the mother , identified by the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung as one of their employees , Kayla Carlson , is believed to have left the 6-month-old in the car by accident when she went in to work Tuesday , the San Antonio Express-News reported. When the mother returned to the car at 5 p.m. , she immediately called for assistance , and emergency workers pronounced the baby dead.
