Angels announce Jerome Williams 'resting comfortably' in hospital

"It is likely he will be released later this afternoon and will return to UCI for further testing tomorrow. Gonna get some rest so I can be back on that mound competing again."Williams gave up four runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Giants at Angel Stadium. He complained of shortness of breath after leaving the game and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.Williams told The Times on Sunday that he greatly anticipated the outing against his former team and pitcher Matt Cain, who had thrown a perfect game against Houston in his most recent start."It's about redemption," Williams said Sunday.Williams was traded to the Chicago Cubs by the Giants in 2005, three months before Cain was promoted from triple A and ultimately secured a spot in the starting rotation.
