DR. DRE IN THE STUDIO MAKING ‘HOT BEATS’ AND ‘DOPE RHYMES’

According to TI., it’s all about gelling with the veteran producer first before anything substantial can happen. “Of course we can get together, he got hot beats and I got dope rhymes, so we can always get together and make music,” he explains. “But for people to feel what we’re sayin’ and for it to sound like a party comin’ through your speakers, you gonna have to create some chemistry. So that’s what we spent more time doin’ than anything else; developing that chemistry.”

Both ‘The Motto’ and ‘Pyro’ are Drake and T.I.’s newest singles, respectively, and the rhyme-slingers are bringing the party with these fresh tracks. Drake’s ‘The Motto,’ which features a guest verse from Lil Wayne, is a drum-driven track that will have you bopping your head along with the beat and singing along during the repetitious hook. T.I. is making a full-force comeback with ‘Pyro,’ a hip-hop club banger with anthemic strings, hard-hitting snares, and boastful lyrics.

Dre was here. He sent for me over to the spot,” T.I. confirmed to MTV News of their recent in-studio collaboration. “We really just turned up more than anything else. It was about creating chemistry.” No word on what came out of their studio time together, but we are willing to bet it was explosive.

As we wait patiently for T.I. to drop his New Year’s Day mixtape ‘F— da City Up,’ a mixtape trailer featuring Tip in the studio with Dr. Dre hit the Internet on Tuesday (Dec. 27). Is the King of the South working with the King of Beats?

Judging by the trailer, we think there was some excellent chemistry going on between the good doctor and the Atlanta rhyme-spitter. T.I. is about to make some ears ring when he drops his new mixtape ‘F— da City Up’ on Jan. 1, 2012. Get ready!
