SHARAN, Afghanistan Carrera Sunglasses, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan police killed four militants armed with weapons and suicide vests who seized a building and intended to attack government office buildings in Sharan, the provincial capital of eastern Paktika province, a provincial government spokesman said on Monday.

"Four militants who sized a commerce building in Sharan at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday were killed in the wee hours Monday by fast- reaction police forces after hours of gunfight," spokesman Mukhlis Afghan told Xinhua.

"Only one civilian was injured in the incident but police vacated 32 civilians who caught up in the building at about 11:30 p.m. local time," he said blaming the Taliban insurgents for the attack.

Spokesman Afghan also said that no casualties were reported on the side of the police forces.

Taliban insurgent have yet to make comments.

The insurgent group, whose regime was toppled in a U.S.-led incursion in late 2001, announced on Wednesday that they would launch a spring rebel offensive dubbed "Al-Farooq" from May 3 across the country, saying their targets are foreign and Afghan troops as well as legislators and government functionaries.

The Taliban insurgents has warned the civilians to stay away from official gatherings, military convoys and centers regarded as the legitimate targets by militants besides warning people against supporting government and foreign troops.

A total of 51 people including 11 security forces Carrera Sunglasses, five civilian and 36 attackers were killed, 74 others were injured when Taliban insurgents launched a coordinated attack in Kabul and three other eastern cities on April 15.
