TSN / ESPN hockey analyst and former NHL super-pest Matthew Barnaby joined the ‘Off the Record panel Tuesday and was featured on ‘Next Question. Walt Weiss Jersey .  One topic of interest was Dallas Stars agitator Sean Avery, who has taken on the role of the NHLs most hated player. Avery, who in the past has sparred verbally with opponents, teammates and the media, has recently turned his attention to the Calgary Flames.  Earlier in the season he called Flames captain Jarome Iginla “boring”, but he saved his biggest verbal jabs for Calgarys All-Star defenceman Dion Phaneuf, fanning the flames of the rivalry even more. On Tuesday, Avery made comments about Phaneufs current girlfriend, actress Elisha Cuthbert, whom Avery dated earlier in his career. “I just want to comment on how its become like a common thing in NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds,” Avery said. “I dont know what thats about. Enjoy the game tonight.” After hearing the comments the NHLs head office suspended Avery indefinitely, pending a hearing with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, in accordance with the provisions of NHL By-Law 17 and Article 6 of the NHL Constitution for conduct "detrimental to the League or game of hockey," Barnaby, the former enforcer who accumulated 2,562 penalty minutes in 834 career games, said he admires the way that Avery plays the game but is not impressed at how he has handled the situation. “We all know a lot of stuff goes on on the ice.  Ive said a lot of nasty things and Ive had a lot of nasty things said to me,” Barnaby said on OTR.  “Ive never had a problem with what anyone has said to me or that Ive said but…keep it on the ice.” Barnaby, who played for the Stars earlier in his career, said he does not believe the organization is regretting its decision to sign Avery to a four-year, $15.5 million contract prior to the season. But he says he does think Avery has become a distraction as he has alienated himself from some of his teammates. “Ive talked to some guys hes played with in the past, Ive talked to some of the guys he plays with now,” said Barnaby. “And hes not the most popular guy.” “What he does on the ice is special.  He gets on teams nerves, he gets under their skin, like hes doing with Calgary.  He has to make himself a better team guy.  You cant put yourself ahead of the team and thats what he does.” Barnaby added that he is amazed the situation was allowed to escalate the way it has, considering the veteran locker room in Dallas. “They have Marty Turco, they have Brenden Morrow, they have Mike Modano.  Im surprised that its gotten to this point,” said Barnaby. “They love the way he plays on the ice, they love the determination that he has and what he does for the team.  Theyve got to find a way to rein him in, and hopefully they will.” Earlier in the year, Modano said he was embarrassed by Averys actions during a loss to the Boston Bruins. “Tonight it was idiotic and stupid," Modano told reporters after Avery and teammate Steve Ott argued with referees and fans. "It was one of the most embarrassing things Ive seen. If thats what were going for, then they need to find me an office job." Barnaby said he had an idea how the issue could be resolved. “If I was (Flames head coach Mike Keenan) I would start Jarome Iginla, get Avery out there, square off because you want to do it like men.  And when (Iginla) does lay the beat down, then flex the muscles.” New England Patriots Nike Jersey . -- Orlando Magic centre Dwight Howard had his technical foul from Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals rescinded by the NBA. Colt McCoy Jersey . Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Frye was selected eighth overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Knicks, and spent the first two seasons of his career with New York before moving to Portland for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. Aaron Hernandez Elite Jersey .com report Friday that he and special assistant Jose Rijo are being investigated in connection with a scandal involving bonus money for prospects from the Dominican Republic. Chris Johnson Elite Jersey . - Maybe its time to start noticing Butler. Darrelle Revis Elite Jersey . Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spent Tuesday night out on the town at the Super Bowl, treating his offensive linemen to dinner. PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers will live without recording a shutout, as long as they keep getting the wins. Andrej Meszaros and Darroll Powe each scored on long-distance wrist shots, and Brian Boucher stopped 30 shots to lead Philadelphia past the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Saturday night. Jeff Carter added his 25th goal for the Flyers, who increased their Atlantic Division lead over Pittsburgh to three points. Brenden Morrow scored for the Pacific Division-leading Stars in the second period, his fifth goal in six games. The Eastern Conference-leading Flyers remain the only team in the NHL without recording a shutout, despite a league-leading 35 wins. "Were not going to get a shutout this year," Boucher said. "Its just not going to happen. Well just keep trying to win games and well be happy with that." Boucher took it a step further. Told that two other teams in NHL history have won the Stanley Cup without recording a regular-season shutout -- the 1981-82 New York Islanders and the 1986-87 Edmonton Oilers -- the Flyers grinned. "See, were not going to get a shutout this year." Shutouts or not, the Flyers are playing inspired hockey in the new year, moving to 12-3 in 2011. In a matchup of division-leading teams, Meszaros scored with 1:20 left in the first period. He took a pass from Ville Leino and flipped a wrist shot over Kari Lehtonens glove. "It went in so Im happy about that," Meszaros said. "It was a nice pass by Ville. I was trying to find a shooting lane, and wrist it in. I guess the goalie didnt see it, so it went in." Powe added to the lead 1:19 into the second with a short-handed wrister from the centre of the circle. It was his first goal since Nov. 15, a span of 35 games. Like Meszaros goal, Lehtonen anticipated low, but was beaten with a high shot. "It was nice to get that goal tonight," Powe said. "It was a good effort by Betts to get the puck to me. It was a nice relief, and nice for the fourth-line guys to chip in offensively. It might give a team a boost." The short-handed goal was the eighth for the Flyers, tying them for second in the NHL behind the New York Rangeers. Cameron Wake Womens Jersey. It was the ninth given up by the Stars, tying them for second-worst. Blair Betts recorded his seventh assist on Powes goal, his first point since Nov. 26. Morrow scored for Dallas at 12:07 of the second, deflecting Mike Ribeiros shot past Bouchers glove side. Carter scored the final goal for Philadelphia when he slapped a bouncing puck into the left corner of the net for his fifth goal in five games. "They put good forechecking pressure," Dallas coach Marc Crawford said. "They found a way to figure out our goalie with the third goal, and when you give them a two-goal lead, youre in trouble." Lehtonen stopped 29 shots and fell to 0-10-1 in 11 games against Philadelphia. The Stars, who have lost three straight, limped into Philadelphia following a 6-3 defeat at Boston on Thursday in a game in which they had three fights in the first four seconds. The Flyers defence stifled the Stars in the third period, and moved to 28-1-2 when leading after two periods. Boucher only faced eight shots in the third period. He picked up his 12th win of the season in his 22nd appearance. Half of his wins have come when hes made 30 or more saves. "He looked really good tonight, in control of everything," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said. Laviolette has used Boucher and rookie Sergei Bobrovsky this season, though Bobrovsky has started most of the time. Its a situation that figures to continue. "We have confidence in both goaltenders, Laviolette said. "Theyve both had strong years and they both deserve a lot of credit. Both guys are playing well, and well continue to keep them both active."
