Moscow must fix its problems with traffic congestion and get fully prepared to host the 2018 World Cup, a visiting Federation Internationale des Football Associations (FIFA) official said Wednesday.
Leading a FIFA delegation to visit Moscow and other candidate cities in Russia knock off Oakley Juliet Sunglasses, Jurgen Muller called the current situation in the megapolis "imperfect".
Like other big cities, Moscow suffered from urban disease, Muller said, adding that traffic jam is part of everybody's life, "I'm sure there will be a solution found."
Moscow is one of the 13 Russian cities to host the World Cup and its Luzhniki stadium will be the venue for the opening and the final games. It is the largest sporting arena in the country with a holding capacity of over 80,000 people.
Besides Luzhniki, Moscow has two more stadiums prepared for the World Cup.
Before the 2018 game event, Moscow will host the Confederations Cup in 2017. This will provide a crucial test to avoid gridlock in Moscow's transport network, according to Russia's 2018 World Cup organizing committee chief Alexei Sorokin.
Muller refrained from announcing the delegation's final decision before their visit of all 14 venues in 13 cities. Twelve arenas will be finally selected. "It would not be fair to the other cities," he told reporters.
FIFA allocates nearly 700 million U.S. dollars for the 2018 World Cup, Russia sport minister Vitaly Mutko said in April. In preparation for the World Cup, a 40-billion-dollar high-speed railroad will be built between Moscow and St.Petersburg.
The FIFA delegation has already visited the cities of Krasnodar fake oakley scalpel sunglasses, Rostov, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Yekaterinburg. It will also visit Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Samara and Volgograd in June.
